24 Year + Experience

Anhar for Peace, Development and Humanitarian Work Organization (APDHWO) is a voluntary, non-governmental, non-profit organization founded in 2009 and officially registered with the Humanitarian Aid Commission – North Darfur (HAC-ND) under registration number 491. In 2024, the organization expanded its legal recognition by obtaining federal registration under number 90/2024. Anhar is driven by a commitment to serve the most vulnerable populations in Sudan, especially in conflict-affected areas such as North Darfur.

Over the past decade, Anhar has become a trusted partner in delivering humanitarian services that uphold dignity, restore stability, and support sustainable development. With a presence in 12 localities across North Darfur, the organization has established itself as a first responder in crises and a reliable contributor to community recovery and development.

Anhar specializes in health, nutrition, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), protection, livelihoods, and psychosocial support. The organization designs and implements its programs with a community-centered approach, ensuring that all interventions respond directly to the needs and realities of the people it serves. Whether through lifesaving dialysis services, maternal health care, water system rehabilitation, or economic empowerment for women and youth, Anhar focuses on delivering high-impact, context-sensitive assistance.

Anhar works closely with major humanitarian actors including UNICEF, WHO, WFP, UNFPA, and the Sudan Humanitarian Fund (SHF), in addition to key international NGOs such as Relief International, COOPI, and Save the Children International. These partnerships have enabled the organization to scale its efforts and maintain technical quality across all sectors.

Our team is composed of dedicated national professionals and volunteers, guided by a structure that includes a General Director, Programs Director, specialized project officers, MEAL experts (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning), and operational support staff. Every member of the organization is committed to truthfulness, neutrality, technical excellence, and accountability to both beneficiaries and donors.

At its core, Anhar believes that peace, development, and humanitarian aid are deeply interconnected. We work not only to save lives, but also to create the conditions in which communities can thrive. In times of peace or crisis, Anhar remains committed to building resilience, restoring dignity, and enabling long-term change.
